"you look like a kitty"

my cousin is getting married tomorrow. ive been looking forward to this all summer. the other day my mom was like, you know...if you cant come, im sure everyone will understand. since you have so much driving to do. yeah fucking right im not going to go. i have to work on saturday so i have to leave right away saturday morning but im not missing this for the world.

so i thought it would be a good idea to go get my hair done for the wedding. my mom hates my black hair and i was even getting a little tired of it so i made an appointment to get my hair dyed and cut at the salon school nearby.

my roommate went there and her hair looks really good...plus its cheap since students do your hair so i thought why not.

so i get there at 4:55...my appt. was at 5. then at like 5:10 some lady came out to tell me that my person wouldnt be able to get to me until 5:30. fine. and she also tells me that the girl im getting is one of the new students. whatever.i dont care. so then i finally get my turn and im talking to the girl and telling her what i want and she was like, we might not have time to do your haircut tonight if we do the highlights too...so i decided id rather get my hair cut than highlighted so i decided to skip the highlights. so i picked my color out of book that didnt have very many color choices. i wanted chocolatey brown...they didnt have anything good. so i picked a kinda nice reddish brown color.

then they tell me that they have to strip my hair of the black first. which means they put bleach on your head and you have to sit under the dryer for almost an hour. the top of my head turned brilliant YELLOW and the bottom was still black. so then they put in my color. ok. sit for 20 minutes. rinsed....and the top is still YELLOW. then she had to go through section by section and redye the yellow part darker. takes FOREVER. rinse it out...still not as dark as the bottom. not yellow, but not what i wanted. they decided that it was close enough.

by now its 8:30 and they close at 9...no time for a haircut.

my hair is patchy. in some parts its almost black and in others its sorta almost orange. LIKE A CAT. it looks like they poured liquid rust on top of my black hair. plus i had to pay double because the stripping counts as a color process. i payed 30 bucks to look like a kitty.

next week, im doing it myself.
