arguments are a necessary part of a relationship. without them, it is obvious that a level of honesty is not being met. to not argue is to close your mouth and work your anger out by yourself...assuming in your mind how things would play out. and resenting the person in your mind. to argue means that you are pushing the limits of your relationship. arguing is uncomfortable...a reminder that things cant always be good. but why not. to argue is to hear true opinions about yourself and having to be able to swallow that and not make too much of an ass out of yourself in the retaliation process. the closest relationships are those where arguing is a healthy and common occurrence. but to get to that point takes time. to cross the line with that first fight. to unlock your mouth and just say it. usually it comes in heat when you really feel pushed...therefore more than what is essential comes out. bones to pick from months ago are brought up and the other party has no idea what you are talking about. just being honest and saying hey, i actually wanted to watch that show...is tough enough on its own. fear of being abandoned if in a disagreeable mood keep my words at bay...just going with the flow has its good side, but then you end up listening to john mayer at high volume from your roommates computer while biting your tongue. eating pizza you dont think is done enough while watching a sub-par movie in order to keep the peace. somethings gotta go.
